Welcome.
I believe you are the expert on your own life. My job is simply to walk alongside you — with warmth, without judgment, and without an agenda. Whatever you’re carrying when you arrive here, this is a space where you can finally put it down for a while.
Who I am
I am a Counselling Student at the Orca Institute completing my supervised clinical practicum — bringing current, up-to-date training, professional clinical supervision, and a genuine commitment to showing up fully for the people I work with. I work from a Person-Centred, attachment-informed relational foundation, which means our relationship comes first and nothing moves faster than you’re ready for. When it feels useful, I draw on a wide toolkit — parts-based approaches, somatic awareness, self-compassion practices, Motivational Interviewing, solution-focused approaches, and practical cognitive tools — not because I follow a script, but because sometimes you need more than a listening ear. Sometimes you need a map.
I welcome anyone who is ready to do meaningful work. Whether you are navigating a major life transition, carrying the invisible weight of burnout, grieving something that doesn’t have a name yet, or simply exhausted by the relentless pressure of everyday life — this work is for you.
Chronic illness, neurodivergence, and perimenopause
I have a particular passion for supporting people navigating complex chronic health conditions, neurodivergence, and the often-overlooked emotional terrain of perimenopause — and I won’t pretend it’s purely professional.
I personally live with hEDS, POTS, MCAS, ME/CFS, and Raynaud’s. I know what it feels like to grieve the life you planned while managing a body that doesn’t cooperate. I know the exhaustion of explaining yourself to doctors, to family, to yourself. And I know the particular loneliness of going through hormonal shifts that affect your mood, your cognition, your sense of self — while the world mostly tells you to push through.
You won’t have to explain yourself here. We go at your pace, always.
The emotional side of money
I also bring something most counsellors don’t: three decades of experience as a Chartered Professional Accountant and Certified Financial Counsellor — teaching personal finance, sitting on school board finance and financial assistance committees, and spending years running groups, community education programs, and a free Facebook community dedicated to the emotional side of money and compulsive overshopping.
In all of that time, I kept noticing the same thing. The people with access to every budget tool, every framework, every piece of financial knowledge still couldn’t always do the things they actually wanted to do with money. Knowledge wasn’t the missing piece. That realization is what brought me to counselling.
I am Trauma of Money Certified and have spent three years specializing exclusively in compulsive overshopping — including 14 months of full-time immersive training in Dr. April Benson’s renowned methodology through her protégé. If money feels like a source of shame, anxiety, or confusion in your life, this is a space that understands that — from the inside out, both professionally and personally.
A note on where I am in my journey
I am a student counsellor completing my required clinical training hours, working under professional clinical supervision. I raise this not as a disclaimer, but because I think you deserve to know exactly who is sitting across from you — and because the people I work with tend to find that my combination of lived experience, specialized training, and genuine investment in this work matters more than a framed certificate on a wall.
If any of this resonates, I’d love to connect. Book a free 15-minute discovery call — no pressure, just a conversation to see if we’re a good fit.
My Journey Begins
Bright Line Counselling & Financial Therapy was built on a simple but hard-won belief: that the missing piece is rarely information. Most of us already know what we "should" do — with our emotions, our money, our habits, our health. What we need is a space where we can finally understand why we're not doing it, without shame, without judgment, and without being handed another list of things to fix.
That said — I do know the tools. After decades of financial expertise, years of community education, and deep specialized training in counselling and the psychology of money, I have a lot to offer when practical skills and strategies are what's needed. But knowing a tool and being able to use it are two different things. What I have learned — through education, through lived experience, and through watching people try and struggle and try again — is that lasting change doesn't come from willpower or the right technique. It comes from understanding yourself deeply enough that the change stops feeling like a fight and starts feeling like simply who you are. That's what we're building here.
I built this practice because I couldn't find that space myself. As someone navigating chronic illness, neurodivergence, and decades of watching smart, capable people stay stuck despite knowing better — I knew the gap wasn't knowledge. It was something deeper. This practice exists to work in that gap.
Your Well-being Matters
Healing isn't linear and it doesn't run on a schedule. There is no right way to do this work and no timeline you have to meet. What I can promise is that every session will move at a pace your nervous system can actually work with — and that you will never be pushed toward insight you're not ready for.
Whether we are sitting with something painful, building practical tools for everyday life, or simply figuring out where to start — you don't have to have it together to show up here. That's the whole point.
